Brief History

　　The department of Banking and Finance was established in 1965 as a section of the department of Banking and Insurance.

　　In 1973, the department of Banking and Insurance was divided into two departments, department of Banking and department of Insurance,

　　The Graduate Institute of Money, Banking and Finance, established in 1986, offers the degree of Master of Business,

　　The department of Banking was further renamed to the present one as the department of Banking and Finance in 1988.

　　Ph.D. degree in Finance was further to offered since 1998, which expanded our program considerably.

　　The Executive Master's Program of Business Administration(EMBA) in Finance was established in 2000 for the need of financial industry.

　　In year 2000, the night school of this department was transformed to continuing education undergraduate program, which offers one class each year.

　　The Graduate Institute of Money, Banking and Finance was renamed to the present one as the Gradate Institute of Banking and Finance in 2003.

　　In year 2003, the two sub-majors in the Graduate program, Banking and Finance, are redesigned to Finance and Financial Engineering to pursue the progress of Financial industry.

　　To meet the development of financial industry in Taiwan, in 2015, the degree of Master of Business was re-organized into two divisions: theoretical finance division and practical finance division.

　　Doctoral Program in Finance Industry and Business Management was established in 2017.

　　In 2018, theoretical finance division and practical finance division in the degree of Master of Business were merged.
